Andrea “Cris” Dyer, the CEO of HCP National Insurance Services, Inc., is named one of 53 elite women leaders in insurance in 2023 by Insurance Business America magazine. HCP National is one of the few minority-woman-owned insurance brokerages in the United States.
On June 6, 2023, Insurance Business America (IBA) announced the winners of its annual Elite Women awards. IBA’s expert panel of judges selected 53 elite women in the insurance industry who have outstanding reputations and demonstrable ability to lead and excel. Andrea “Cris” Dyer, the CEO of HCP National, is among the Elite Women of 2023. HCP National is proudly certified by MBE and WBENC and is one of the few national minority-woman-owned-and-led insurance brokerages in the United States.
Each year, Insurance Business America invites insurance professionals from across the United States to nominate exceptional female leaders to win the Elite Women award. Nominators are required to detail nominees’ achievements and initiatives over the previous year, highlighting their specific professional accomplishments and contributions to the insurance industry as a whole.
When evaluating nominees to receive the honor, judge Sabrina Hart of Munich Re Specialty Insurance said she considered women leaders who displayed impressive overall qualifications; longevity in the industry; contributions to advancing diversity and inclusion; and significant accomplishments.
CEO of HCP National, Andrea “Cris” Dyer, states, “It is an honor to be recognized by IBA. D&I is not about pushing anyone out, but bringing together a diverse mix of qualified professionals. From private to public brokerages, the vast majority of leadership teams are dominated by one group and gender; very few brokerages are owned and led by minority women. This has to change, and HCP National is part of that change.”
As a Biracial-Brazilian-American immigrant woman and American citizen, Dyer is proud and honored to represent females and people of color in the insurance industry.
In 2005, Dyer purchased HCP National and assumed the role of CEO. Since then, HCP has grown exponentially, thanks to Dyer’s strong leadership skills, work ethic, and core business philosophy: “Do what’s best for the client, first and always.”
Since 1994, HCP has helped nonprofits, private and public companies, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and government organizations define and minimize their risks by implementing the right insurance products at affordable prices.
HCP has placed over $1 billion in premium and currently covers more than 1 million lives and members, from self-insured medical insurance plans to risk-bearing entities. HCP has additional expertise in all forms of employee benefits and property and casualty.
